About 15 years ago, I read "Tuesdays with Morrie" for the first time. This book holds a special place in my heart since it brings to memory my friend and professor Sudhakar Solomonraj.

I've had to reevaluate my perspective on life, death, and everything in between after reading this memoir by Mitch Albom. This book details the author's final visits to Morrie Schwartz, a former college professor who is suffering from terminal ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). The two discuss life and death, love and family during their weekly sessions, which serve as the basis for the book.

The author's writing is straightforward but effective, capturing the essence of Morrie's lessons and delivering them in a way that is understandable to all readers. Morrie shares his knowledge with them about the value of accepting death, discovering one's purpose, and forming deep connections with people. In my twenties and even now, in my forties, the book's vignettes continue to have a strong emotional impact on me.

The relationship between Mitch and Morrie is made open to the reader in the book, as if the reader were a third-party present. Although the book deals with serious issues, there are also some lighter moments which make you smile. Even as he prepares to die, Morrie's wit shines, reminding us that laughing is a priceless gift that shouldn't ever be taken for granted.

'Slow down, respect our time, and embrace the wisdom that may be found in the most unexpected places,' is my main lesson from 'Tuesdays with Morrie'.

A highly recommended to read!
